Our Very 1st Family Photo

Joe, Diana & Dylan. Awww... It's our 1st Family Photo! This is right after I was moved out of the OR. My body didn't recover from the epidural for 4 hours. It was a scary feeling not being able to feel your lower body for that long. I wish I could've breast-fed him but I was feeling too weak to even hold him. Unsuaull for Dylan, his first feeding was done by his daddy Joe.

Welcome Dylan!

Welcome Dylan!

Born July 13th 2009. 2:34 AM, 7 lbs 5 oz, 20 inches.

We are so happy to finally have Dylan be born into this world! I thought Dylan was going to be born way earlier than due date. On my 37th week check up, Doctor told me that I was already 3 cm dilated and 50% effaced and told me I could have the baby any day. I got scared and called Joe and he decided to book a ticket from Little Rock and headed back home. I was having a lot of braxton-hicks contractions but never a REAL contraction. A week went by....

On the 38th week check up, I was still dilated 3 cm. This made me really
anxious. I wanted to have the baby already! I couldn't wait any longer..
Since then, I've tried everything to naturally induce labor- walking up and down the stairs, working out at the gym, eating spicy food, you name it, I've tried it.

Another week went by, on the 39th week, i was almost 5 cm dilated, yet no contractions. We finally decided to schedule an induction. The doctor told me that the baby is about 7 lbs.. On the day of induction,
an hour before we headed to the hospital my water finally started to
leak and I started to have some strong contractions.

OH BOY, this contraction was no joke!! It hurt a lot!! It felt like
someone stabbing me in the back and gutting out my intestines. When I
got to the hospital for admission, I told them I can't wait any longer so
we headed to the Triage, which is ER for pregnant woman. Poor Joe.. I was in so much pain i started beating him and slapped him. Joe described me as "a dying person fighting for their life" lol.
Finally the room was ready and I was moved up to the Labor & Delivery Room. I fell asleep after the epidural and when the nurse checked me out after two hours, I was already dilated to 8 Cm and another hour later I was fully dilated! I was somewhat disappointed because I was too tired to push and I needed more sleep.

After almost 3 hours of pushing, Dylan was going no where... It turned
out he was faced up and stuck on my pelvic bone. Doctor recommended
me to have a C-Section. After some thinking, we decided to go ahead
with the C-section. I dont remember too much of what happened in the
operating room because I was so drugged up with pain medication. All I
remember is feeling a lot of pressure, tugging and pulling.

Waiting for Dylan to cry seemed like hours. When he finally cried, I got
so emotional. We are so happy that he was born a such a healthy baby.
We couldn't ask for more.
